GETTING THERE

The campsite is well situated for access from France or Spain. It is a few miles south of Perpignan in the south of France, and is served by good transport links (road, rail and air).

The nearest airport is at Perpignan. From UK, Ryanair currently fly direct from London (Stansted) and Birmingham, FlyBe from Southampton and BMIbaby from Manchester. AirFrance fly from Paris. The airport arrivals hall is quite small but easy to navigate. As an alternative, Gerona airport to the south, is about 65 miles (100km) by motorway from Argeles; Ryanair also fly to Gerona. A number of shuttle transport operators run from both Perpignan and Gerona airports to Argeles.

There is a railway station at Argelès, with connections (from Perpignan) onto the fast TGV network throughout France and beyond. Argelès is just a couple of kilometers away from La Sirène campsite. The campsite is situated near the north beach in the resort. (i.e. la sirene campsite is situated just to the north east of the town Argelès).

By road, you can approach from the south (via Gerona) on the A7 or from the north (from Perpignan) on the A9 (E.15).

If you are travelling from England, you can use various crossings, e.g. Dover - Calais, Folkstone - Calais, Portsmouth - Le Havre or Portsmouth - Caen.   The french motorway network is generally good, although around the beginning of the french summer holidays it may be a busy time to travel during the daytime. You will also be able to find a number of budget accommodation stops by the motorway network, should you wish to break your journey to or from the campsite.

Nearest Travel Links (using direct main routes)
Airport: Perpignan: 22 km
Railway: Argeles:    3 km
Ferry:   Caen:   1020 km   (for UK)

We have added some weblinks below for checking ferry crossings from Dover, Portsmouth and Rosslare. The Dover crossings are a shorter sea crossing, although they involve more driving across France than the Portsmouth crossings would do. For those wishing to travel from Eire, there is a ferry crossing from Rosslare.

If coming by road from france, leave the A9 on the south side of Perpignan (junction 42) and then head east for a few miles to reach the regional main road D914 (sometimes referred to as N114) (turn right and head for Argelès). Continue for several miles before exit on "Sortie 10" of D914 (N114). When travelling from the Perpignan direction, you take the last (4th) exit at the first roundabout (at the top of the exit slip), "D114" to cross over the D914 road. At next roundabout (immediately after crossing over D914/N114), take the 3rd exit (note that 1st exit is the D114 to Argelès, 2nd exit goes to Argelès Plage and is called Chemin de Neguebous, there is also a 4th exit , which goes back to the D914-northbound). Following the road from 3rd exit, after approx 300m bear sharply right, taking the road called 'Route de Taxo A La Mer'. Follow this road for a fair distance (about 2.5km),heading straight across various junctions. The campsite is then on the right, on this road, just prior to a roundabout with Chemin de la Salanque (about 200m before that roundabout).

These are brief directions, see also Google map below - (please click on the "pan right" arrow within map to see the destination point "B"). For a more detailed map, please contact us directly.
